Karyn is a well-known commercial litigator, with involvement in several high profile Commercial Court actions through her career. Much of her work is cross-jurisdictional and her team regularly instructs local counsel in other jurisdictions in connection with bankruptcy proceedings, fraud, asset recovery and data disclosure. She has strategically managed complex international litigation and works closely with clients to understand their strategic priorities and achieve the best outcome possible, including providing trusted crisis management advice and steering investigations. Karyn is a member of the steering committee of the International Fraud Group and co-chairs the annual Forum on the International Enforcement of Judgments and Awards.
Passionate about innovation and diversity, Karyn is the partner responsible for McCann FitzGerald’s Legal Technology Solutions Division, a pioneering model for the management of complex data review and project services, and is a regular speaker at international conferences on technology assisted review and the use of artificial intelligence systems for data review. She is the author of the chapter on Discovery in the Law Society of Ireland Civil Litigation Manual 3rd ed (Oxford University Press) and chairs the EU Developments Committee of the International Working Group of the Sedona Conference, which develops best practice guidelines relating to all aspects of data law.
Karyn is a CEDR accredited mediator and a lay member of the Council of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
